Privacy Policy
What the Bookmark Organizer extension and bookmarkmanager.app read, what is sent to our server, what we store, and what we never do with your bookmarks.
Last updated: 2026-10-30
This policy covers the Bookmark Organizer Chrome extension ("the extension") and the website bookmarkmanager.app with its API server ("the service"). It describes what the product actually does today. If that changes, we update this page and the date above.
The short version
- The extension reads your bookmarks and open tabs so it can suggest folders and group tabs. It sends page titles and URLs to our server to work out which pages are similar.
- Our API server does not save your bookmarks, tabs or voice recordings in a database. It passes them to the AI providers listed below and returns the result.
- The extension never moves a bookmark on its own. Bookmarks move only when you pick a folder, apply a plan you reviewed, or ask the agent to move them.
- We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
What the extension reads on your computer
- Bookmarks: titles, URLs and the folder structure of your Chrome bookmarks.
- Open tabs: the titles and URLs of tabs in your windows, and which tab groups they belong to.
- Browsing history (organizer only): when you run an organize scan on a folder, the visit count and last visit time of the bookmarked pages in that folder, so the plan can tell pages you use from pages you forgot.
- Microphone (only if you use voice input): audio is recorded only while you are recording a voice message in the chat box.
What the extension keeps locally, in Chrome's extension storage on your computer: a folder index for recommendations, the history of saves and organize runs (with snapshots so you can restore), your tab archives, recent agent conversations and your settings. Uninstalling the extension removes this storage.
What is sent to our server
The extension talks to our API server, which runs on Cloudflare Workers.
- Folder suggestions, indexing and tab grouping: page titles and URLs of the bookmarks and tabs involved, to compute text embeddings (a numeric description of what a page is about).
- Organize runs: titles, URLs and folder names of the bookmarks in the folder you scan, plus their visit count and last visit time.
- Agent chat: your message, the conversation so far, and the bookmark and tab details the agent asks for (titles, URLs, folder names, tab groups) while it works on your request.
- Voice input: the audio clip, to turn it into text. The text appears in the chat box for you to review; nothing is sent until you press send.
When you are signed in to your bookmarkmanager.app account, these requests carry a sign-in token so the server knows the request comes from your account. No feature is restricted by account today.
Who processes that data
- Cloudflare hosts the website and the API server, and runs the embedding and speech-to-text models (Cloudflare Workers AI).
- A third-party large language model provider generates the agent's replies and organize plans. It receives the request content described above.
The API server does not write this content to a database. Our hosting keeps standard request logs (such as time, IP address, URL path and status) for security and debugging, for a limited period.
Your website account
If you create an account on bookmarkmanager.app we store:
- your email address, name and a hashed password (or the profile basics from Google or GitHub if you sign in with them);
- your sign-in sessions, including IP address and browser user agent;
- how you arrived when you signed up: UTM campaign parameters, the referring page, your country, the IP address and your language.
We use this to run your account, keep it secure and understand which channels bring people to the product. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as language and theme. If site analytics are enabled, we use them to count visits and page views; where required we ask for consent first, and you can change your choice from the cookie settings link in the footer.
What we never do
- Move, rename or delete a bookmark without your action.
- Change tab groups you made during normal grouping. The full regroup button, which you press yourself, is the only action that re-sorts every tab.
- Archive or close tabs on a timer. Archiving happens only when you ask.
- Sell your data or use your bookmarks for advertising.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your choices and rights
You can stop using any feature, turn off automatic grouping, collapse and the tab badge in the extension settings, uninstall the extension, or delete your account. Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
